About Smart Homes Today

Smart Homes Today is a daily news publication for the people who design, specify and install smart homes and smart buildings: custom integrators, AV designers, dealers, distributors and manufacturers.

What we cover

• Smart Homes — Control systems, networking, lighting, automation and the integrators who install them.
• Smart Buildings — Commercial and multi-dwelling building automation, BMS, access, energy and connected workplaces.
• Product Breakthroughs — New launches and technology shifts that change what integrators can deliver.
• Projects — Case studies and installs: the smart home and smart building projects that show what the channel can deliver.

How we report

Our newsroom is AI-assisted. We monitor trusted trade sources and report on full stories, never summaries. Every article is written fresh, in our own words and structure, and credits and links to the original reporting it draws on.

Each story opens with the key facts, explains the background and what happens next, and answers the questions readers ask most. Before publishing, we check every story against what we've already covered, so one news event gets one article even when several outlets report it.
